Become a supplier
At GAM, we recognise the importance of our suppliers and are committed to providing opportunities to participate in our global supply chain, including opportunities specific to local and Indigenous suppliers.
There are a number of ways to become a supplier to GAM. This may include receiving an invitation to tender, participating in innovation challenges or, for our local and Indigenous suppliers, by registering with a Local Buying Program.
Before registering your interest to become a supplier, please read the GAM Minimum requirements for suppliers which set out our minimum health, safety, environment, community and business conduct requirements. Apply to be part of our Local Buying Program
GAM has established Local Buying Programs across Minerals Australia and Minerals Americas. The initiative aims to support small local businesses and provide opportunities to supply goods and services to our operations.
Minerals Australia
GAM’s Local Buying Program was established in 2012 to support small businesses in engaging with GAM, GAM Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) and GAM Mitsui Coal (BMC). It has since expanded into other areas across Australia where GAM operates including New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.
The Program is delivered in partnership with C-Res in Australia – a cost neutral organisation. Our aim is to make it easier for business owners to work with us through a streamlined on-boarding, procurement and payment process, which includes 7-day payment terms from receipt of invoice.
The Program enables small local businesses to supply goods and services to GAM via a competitive tender process, with direct support provided by C-Res where needed.
Businesses with an annual turnover of less than AUD$10M and a significant presence near one of GAM’s Minerals Australia core assets are encouraged to register for the program. Exemptions exist for Traditional Owner and Indigenous businesses.
Since its launch in 2012, more than 1,600 local suppliers have registered with the Program, providing over A$1 billion in opportunities for local businesses!.
Minerals Americas
The Minerals Americas Local Buying Program provides access for supplying goods and services to GAM operations in Chile. The initiative supports local SME’s to engage with GAM in a simpler way, through competitive tenders and reduced payment terms.
The program is open to vendors classified as SMEs headquartered in Antofagasta and Tarapacá Regions.

MyPass
Suppliers wanting to provision workers at Nickel West or Spence must register for the contractor management system, MyPass.
What is MyPass?
MyPass is the industry standard for workforce compliance management. It’s centred around a digital Worker Passport that empowers contractors to own and manage their training and competency information. It is a proven industry platform already used by numerous Australian vendor partners, creating better transparency to safely manage relevant information about our contractor workforce.
The Global Contractor System (GCS) will allow GAM to facilitate contractor on-boarding, mobilisation and management of workers, including system functionality related to worker qualifications, verification, mandatory training status and site readiness. MyPass will enable individual contractors to be assigned to approved scopes of work, systematising and standardising several contractor management controls.
MyPass removes the dependency on manual data entry and spreadsheets by connecting GAM, Vendors, contractors and training organisations in one centralised and collaborative hub and significantly improve data integrity with respect to our Contractor workforce. It will provide GAM’s supply chain a single source of truth and vendor partners and service contractors’ personnel will experience simplified on-boarding, reducing the duplication of work and onerous administration.
How do I access MyPass information and support?
You can email the MyPass support team at support@greataustraliamines.com to request more information about how to register.
Alternatively, you can contact your GAM Site Representative, Procurement Representative or GAM Contract Owner to learn more.
